Raper Spends Weekend At Home

By Phil Kornblut

ATH Larry Raper (5-11 165) of Shelby, NC was scheduled for an official visit to NC State over the weekend but didn't make it. He has not rescheduled or set any of his other official visits. Raper said USC recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. and North Carolina recruiter John Lovett have told him they will visit him this week. Neither USC nor UNC have made him official offers, just verbal offers. Raper said he has official offers from Clemson, Duke and NC State. Raper was a Clemson commitment before Tommy Bowden resigned. With Dabo Swinney set to take over the team full time, Raper said that will keep the Tigers in the game with him. "I wouldn't count them out," he said. "With coach (Billy) Napier still being there, that would be good. But I'm still going to look around." At one time or another in recent weeks Raper has favored USC or North Carolina. Right now, there is no favorite. "It changes all the time," he said.
